3 Streams

The Bachelor of Engineering Honours is available in the following streams:

  • Aeronautical Engineering
  • Aeronautical Engineering with Space
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering with Space
  • Mechatronic Engineering
  • Mechatronic Engineering with Space
  • Software Engineering
  • Dalyell

4 Admission to Candidature

Admission to this course is on the basis of a secondary school leaving qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), tertiary study or an approved preparation program.

5 Requirements for Award

  • Candidates must achieve a Cross-Semester Average Mark (CSAM) at a level determined by joint agreement of the Deans and Heads of School and Deans of University schools of all the faculties and University schools administering degrees offering the Dalyell Stream in each year of study or over each 48 credit point block to continue in the Dalyell Stream

7 Level of Honours Awarded

The grade of honours is determined by the Engineering Integrated Honours Weighted Average Mark (EIHWAM).

8 University Medal

A student who has qualified for the award with first class honours and has an EIHWAM of 85 or above, and who has demonstrated excellence in their honours thesis will be considered for the award of a University Medal.

9 Engineering Specialisations

There is no requirement to complete an Engineering specialisation. Two types of Engineering specialisations are available:

  • Stream specialisations, which are specific to a stream and comprise units from the stream electives for that stream
  • Breadth specialisations, which are available across multiple streams

10 Transitional Provisions
