Program Overview
The Conservatorium Open Academy offers various programs for individuals with a passion for music. The programs are designed to cater to different age groups and skill levels, providing a supportive and safe environment for students to explore their voices and develop their singing, confidence, and performance skills.
Program Details
The Contemporary Singer program is an engaging and interactive class for singers with a passion for contemporary music of all styles. Students will learn basic singing skills and techniques designed to develop their voices and confidence, including exercises to improve their range, dynamic ability, and performance skills.

Students will have the opportunity to sing individually with the instructor, Jo Fabro, to focus on areas that are most important to each student's individual development. - How to pick the right key for your song
- Phrasing and lyric interpretation
- Singing with confidence and overcoming performance anxiety

Program Requirements
- Some basic singing experience is recommended but not essential.
- Suitable for singers up to intermediate level.
- Students are expected to bring 3 songs to the first class (sheet music not required for week 1, but you will need to purchase the sheet music after confirming your chosen song).
