Bachelor of Laws
The Bachelor of Laws program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental and underlying rules, principles, concepts, and practices of law.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates of the Bachelor of Laws will demonstrate:
- An integrated understanding of the fundamental and underlying rules, principles, concepts, and practices of law that apply in Australia and the many broader contexts in which law operates and develops.
- An ability to identify, analyse, and respond critically and creatively to legal questions by applying and integrating knowledges, reasoning, and research.
- Intellectual and practical skills to identify, find, evaluate, and synthesise relevant factual, legal, scholarly and policy information in an ethical manner.
- An understanding of respectful and ethical conduct, and an ability to recognise and reflect upon their responsibilities to the profession, the legal system, the community, and the pursuit of justice.
- Ngara: An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ knowledges and perspectives, including the ongoing effects of colonisation, and an ability to reflect upon the cultural specificity of law.
- An ability to work independently and collaboratively as appropriate, and to communicate with diverse legal and non-legal audiences in ways that are effective, respectful, and persuasive.
