Program Overview
The ARHT6921: Dissertation Part 2 program is designed for master's degree candidates who wish to undertake research and writing on an approved topic towards a dissertation of 12,000 words under the supervision of an academic staff member. The topic is elective, and Art Curatorship students have the option of writing a thesis in the form of an exhibition plan and catalogue essay.

Learning Outcomes
At the completion of this unit, students should be able to:
- Undertake a program of independent research on a topic of their choice under the supervision of a nominated member of the Department, and write a 12,000-word thesis.
- Present an overall argument or interpretation of their topic over the course of several chapters.
- Optionally, write an exhibition proposal instead of a more conventional dissertation, including a catalogue essay (9,000 words in length) and an exhibition proposal (outlining the rationale of the exhibition), a list of works, and a select number of catalogue entries.
