Practical experience is a major component of the program, providing students with opportunities to develop their teaching skills and professional understanding through school observation and practice teaching.
About the Practical Experience
School observation and practice teaching are integral components of the professional experiences in all education and teaching programs at the Sydney School of Education and Social Work. Practicums and internships, offered in partnership with participating schools, augment University coursework and provide student teachers with opportunities to develop their teaching skills and professional understanding.
Requirements for Completion
Students will complete:
- 10-day block of professional experience in Year 1 (Health and Physical Education)
- 15-day block of professional experience in Year 2 (Health and Physical Education)
- 20-day block of professional experience in Year 3 (Integrated HPE and 2nd Teaching method)
- 35-day block of professional experience in Year 4 (Integrated HPE and 2nd Teaching method)
