Minimum levels of achievement

The Bachelor of Music (Performance) with a focus on Orchestral Instrument requires students to achieve minimum levels of achievement in various areas of study. The areas of study and their corresponding credit points and minimum levels of achievement are as follows:

• Principal Study: 72 credit points, with a minimum level of achievement in Principal Study Performance 1-8 or 8 (RP)
• Performance and Ensemble: 54 credit points, with a minimum level of achievement in 48 credit points of Orchestral Studies 1-8 and 6 credit points of Chamber Music 1-2
• Core:
  • Music Skills: 24 credit points, with a minimum level of achievement in 24 credit points of Harmony and Analysis 1-4, Aural Perception 1-4
  • Analytical, Historical and Cultural Studies (AHCS): 24 credit points, with a minimum level of achievement in 0 credit points of Australian Indigenous Music, 6 credit points of This is Music, 12 credit points in AHCS Foundation units, and 6 credit points in AHCS Elective units
• Additional Core:
  • Studio Pedagogy/Music Education: 3 credit points, with a minimum level of achievement in 3 credit points of pedagogy or music education unit
• Final Year Project:
  • Professional and Industry Skills: 12 credit points, with a minimum level of achievement in Music Specialist Creative Project 1-2 (or Industry Community Project units)
• Electives: 3 credit points, with a minimum level of achievement in electives from music (Table A) and/or Table S and/or Table O
