RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The University of Cincinnati was the first institution to offer the Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1916. The RN to BSN online program offers quality education with flexibility and support for working professionals.

Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission to UC’s RN to BSN online program, you must submit the following materials:
- An online application through the University of Cincinnati
- Official transcripts of previous college coursework with a recommended minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Documented completion of an associate degree or diploma in nursing for RN licensure
- Please note: Individuals can be admitted into UC's RN to BSN online program before completing the NCLEX. However, documentation of an active, unrestricted RN license is required to enroll in NBSN4081: Focus on Community and NBSN4068: Capstone Experience.
State regulations prevent UC College of Nursing from accepting applications from RNs in the following states:
- Louisiana
- Massachusetts
- Oregon
- Rhode Island
- Tennessee
- Washington
Flexible Course Schedule and Support
Students can choose to complete the RN to BSN online program full time or part time. Full time students can complete the required nine nursing courses in nine months (two semesters). Part time students can complete the program in either 12 months (three semesters) by taking three courses a semester or 15 months (five semesters) by taking two courses a semester.
