The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine offers a one-year, non-ACGME-accredited fellowship for physicians committed to advancing cancer survivorship care.
Program Overview
Fellows are appointed as entry-level faculty and gain specialized training in providing primary care to patients with a history of cancer, hereditary cancer syndromes, or active cancer diagnoses.
Training and Clinical Experience
Training includes clinical experience at the UC Cancer Center and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, with rotations in:
- Cardio-oncology
- Onco-nephrology
- Onco-psychiatry
- Childhood/AYA survivorship Fellows also receive protected time for research or scholarly projects.
Program Outcomes
Graduates will be equipped to lead survivorship programs in academic or community settings, with core competencies in:
- Cancer surveillance
- Long-term effects management
- Health promotion
- Psychosocial care
- Coordinated survivorship care
Admission Requirements
The following qualifications/competencies are required for an applicant to be considered for the Oncology Primary Care and Survivorship Fellowship:
- Completion of a U.S. ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency, Internal Medicine Residency, Medicine/Pediatrics Residency, or Family Medicine/Psychiatry in good standing
- Relevant Specialty Board Certification
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Ohio
- Demonstrated commitment to serving individuals with a history of cancer
