About the Program
The Musculoskeletal Fellowship Program is a one-year, ACGME accredited subspecialty training program that admits two fellows per year. The program is committed to integrating high academic and professional competency standards into a comprehensive training curriculum applicable to a future career in either academic or private practice radiology.
Objectives
The objectives of the Musculoskeletal Radiology Fellowship are to:
- Educate fellows in advanced interpretation of radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and diagnostic ultrasound.
- Train fellows in fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT guided procedures, including therapeutic and diagnostic.
- Provide an opportunity for clinical education and academic research using the resources and clinical material available at the University Hospital.
Program Goals
The goal of the program is to train highly competent and qualified radiology subspecialists in musculoskeletal radiology who will support patient care as effective members of the clinical care team with strong interpretive skills, knowledge of appropriate diagnostic radiology tools, and cost-effective resource utilization.
Clinical Relationships
The program develops collegial relationships with referring clinicians in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Rheumatology, and has an integral relationship with the UC Athletics Department, being involved in direct care of student athletes.
Work Environment
The program enjoys a friendly work environment and has various MSK division social events. The section is close-knit and looks forward to working with new fellows, creating rewarding, long-lasting relationships.
Program Structure
The program is led by a Program Director and supported by a Program Coordinator. The program is part of the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, located in the CARE/Crawley Building, Suite E-Eden Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45267.
