Program Overview

The Master of Science in Finance program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of finance and its applications. The program is offered by the University of Cincinnati and can be completed in one year with a minimum of 30-38 credits.

Business Foundations Courses

Unless waived, all students are required to take the following courses:

• ACCT7000: Foundations in Accounting (C min) - 2 credits
• ECON7000: Foundations in Economics (C min) - 2 credits
• BANA7011: Data Analysis (C min) - 2 credits
• Either MGMT7000: Organizations (C min) - 2 credits or MKTG7000: Marketing Foundations (C min) - 1 credit

Core Courses

Students must complete the following 11 courses (24 hours):

• FIN7032: Quantitative Equity Investing (C min) - 2 credits
• FIN7035: Equity Analysis (C min) - 3 credits
• FIN7036: Advanced Financial Information and Valuation (C min) - 3 credits
• FIN7037: Fixed Income (C min) - 3 credits
• FIN7041: Investments (C min) - 3 credits
• FIN7042: Options and Futures (C min) - 3 credits
• FIN7076: Finance Careers and Professional Development II (C min) - 0 credits
• BA7077: Career Management - 0 credits
• BANA6043: Statistical Computing (C min) - 2 credits
• FIN7084: Masters in Finance Capstone (C min) - 2 credits
• Either ECON7011C: Econometrics for Finance (C min) - 3 credits or FIN7031: Financial Econometrics (C min) - 3 credits

Focus Area

Students must choose one of the following courses (2-3 hours):
