Interdisciplinary Program Overview
The Interdisciplinary program, specifically the Cybersecurity Curriculum, is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in the field of cybersecurity. The program is structured to be completed in 4 years, with a minimum number of credits required for graduation.
Program Structure
The program is divided into four years, with each year consisting of two semesters: Fall and Spring. The curriculum includes a range of courses that cover various aspects of cybersecurity, including information technology, computer networking, system administration, and more.
Fall Semester Year 1
- IT1050: Fundamentals of Information Technology (3 credits)
- IT2030C: Information Security and Assurance (3 credits)
- PHIL1025: Contemporary Moral Issues (3 credits)
- MATH1026: Pre-Calculus (5 credits)
- PD1170: Career Readiness for the Liberal Arts (1 credit)
Spring Semester Year 1
- ENGL1001: English Composition (C- min) (3 credits)
- IT1080C: Computer Networking (3 credits)
- IT1081C: System Administration (3 credits)
- MATH1071: Introduction to Discrete Mathematics (3 credits)
- A&S FRESHMAN SEMINAR: list provided each semester by advising office (3 credits)
INTR-BIS Additional Requirements
- (INTR-BIS) CLUSTER INFORMATION: Students are required to complete either 2 clusters (disciplines) with 15 and 12 credit hours per cluster or 3 clusters (disciplines) with 9 credit hours per cluster. Each cluster must have at least 1 course at the 3000-level or above and the clusters must total 27 credit hours. (27 credits)
- (INTR-BIS) A&S CREDIT INFORMATION: Of the 36 credit hours required by the INTR-BIS major, a minimum of 18 credits must come from A&S disciplines. (18 credits)
- (INTR-BIS) 3000+ COURSE INFORMATION: INTR-BIS major requires students to complete a minimum of 24 credit hours (out of 120 credits) of coursework at the 3000-level or higher. (24 credits)
