Program Overview
The Geology program at the University of Cincinnati is a four-year undergraduate degree that provides students with a comprehensive education in geology and paleontology. The program is designed to prepare students for careers in the geosciences, with a strong foundation in the principles of geology, as well as hands-on experience in field and laboratory settings.
Program Requirements
The Geology program requires a minimum of 120 credits, with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher in major courses. Each major course must be passed with a C- or better. The program includes a combination of required and elective courses, as well as a capstone experience.

The Geology program offers an optional co-op plan, which allows students to gain hands-on experience in the field. Students who choose to participate in the co-op plan must complete two courses in the Fall Semester of Year 2:

Capstone Experience
The capstone experience is a 3-6 hour field camp or related field or laboratory experience that fulfills the Experiential Learning and Culminating Career Education Touchpoint.
