Program Overview
The University of Cincinnati offers a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Gender & Multicultural Politics. This program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the political world, including the principles of democracy, political science, and the role of gender and multiculturalism in shaping political institutions and policies.
Program Requirements

Optional Co-op Plan
Students can choose to participate in an optional co-op plan, which requires the completion of three co-op experiences. The co-op plan is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in the field of political science.
Concentration in Gender & Multicultural Politics
Students must complete four courses from the list of electives in Gender & Multicultural Politics, which includes:
- POL1027, 1089, 2015, 2076, 2089, 2096, 3012, 3013, 3022, 3063, 3069, 4041 (12 credits)
Capstone Course
Students must complete a capstone course in Gender & Multicultural Politics, which includes:
- POL5165, 5168, 5181, 5190, 5191; WGSS5165, 4181, 4190; EVST5165 (3 credits)
Area of Emphasis
Students can choose to specialize in one of the following areas:
- American Politics
- Comparative Politics
- Political Theory
- International Relations
