Program Overview
Graduate Program
The Department of Entomology at Washington State University is currently accepting applications for MS and PhD students. As a student at WSU, you will have the opportunity to work with world-class faculty and other graduate students who have won numerous awards from professional societies both statewide and nationwide, and are recognized worldwide for their contributions.
Program Details
Because of the size of our program, you can have the flexibility to implement your specialized research project with the guidance of the faculty and the collaboration of other students. Our relationship with the University of Idaho’s Department of Plant, Soils and Entomological Sciences, just 8 miles away, allows us to offer a wide array of courses and work on joint research projects.
Student Involvement
Our students are involved with the community. The WSU Entomology Club organizes and hosts an annual Insect Expo, sharing the wonderful world of insects with children and adults alike. Our students also enjoy social events throughout the year.
Facilities
Our recently refurnished graduate student office provides a stimulating environment for research and learning.
Funding and Support
The Department of Entomology at Washington State University is one of a select few that receive annual funding and support from the ARCS Seattle Chapter. PhD student candidates seeking this prestigious fellowship are encouraged to apply early and communicate their interest to the department graduate coordinator and faculty.
