Entrepreneurship Major
The Entrepreneurship major is designed to equip students with the skills to transform their ideas into successful ventures. Students will learn to identify and evaluate business opportunities, develop comprehensive business plans, and master financial management and venture financing. They will also dive into marketing strategies, build leadership and teamwork skills, and navigate the legal and regulatory landscape.

The Entrepreneurship major is offered by the Management, Information Systems, and Entrepreneurship Department. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to launch and manage their own businesses or drive innovation within existing organizations.

The Entrepreneurship major requires students to complete a series of courses, including:
- ENTRP 485 New Venture Planning: This course teaches students how to create and grow a new venture, including how to evaluate opportunities, develop growth strategies, obtain venture financing, and build a management team.
- ENTRP 486 Launching New Ventures: In this course, students participate in the WSU Business Plan Competition, which provides an opportunity to practice entrepreneurship in a real-world setting and receive guidance as they launch a new venture.
- ENTRP 489 Entrepreneurial Management: This course teaches students about the analytical, financial, and interpersonal skills needed to effectively manage an entrepreneurial venture.
- ENTRP 492 Small Business Strategy & Planning: In this course, students run Carson Business Solutions, a student consulting firm that pairs small businesses and nonprofits with student teams.

Get Involved
Students can get involved in the Entrepreneurship program through various activities, including:
- Entrepreneurship Club
- Business Plan Competition: Held every April, the WSU BPC gives students a chance to hone their pitch, sharpen their communication skills, network with industry professionals, and learn what it takes to step into the world of an entrepreneur.
- Sparks Program: This program helps students find answers to questions about what it means to be an entrepreneur and provides a scholarship.
- Jones Milestone Accelerator: Teams can receive up to $20,000 to move their business project forward to launch.
Fund your Education through Scholarships
The Carson College of Business awards more than $1,000,000 in scholarships each year. Scholarships are available for both new and continuing WSU students. Additionally, each semester dedicated scholarships for Entrepreneurship majors are awarded.
