FSPCA Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP)

The FSPCA Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge to implement the requirements of the “Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) for Importers of Food for Humans and Animals” regulation of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This regulation is one of a number of regulations and guidance that implement the provisions of the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), which focuses on safe food practices.

Target Audience

The course is designed for:

• U.S.-based importers who meet the definition of “importer” in the FSVP rule, which includes those who own or are the consignee of food at the time of entry, or, if no owner or consignee exists, the U.S. agent or representative of the foreign owner.
• Others who have an interest in ensuring that the requirements of the FSVP rule are met, including brokers, exporters, foreign suppliers of food that will be exported to the U.S., persons/business owners who currently buy food from foreign sources, and representatives of foreign governments.

Course Details

• The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a 1-hour lunch break.
• The course will be delivered remotely and live through Zoom.
• Participants will need to have access to a computer with:
  • An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE)
  • Speakers and a microphone – built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth
  • A webcam or HD webcam – built-in or USB plug-in
• Participants are required to download the FSVP manual (pdf) as it will be referenced and used during the training.

Fee and Certificate

• The fee for the course is $400 per attendee, which includes the official FSPCA certificate.

Cancellations Policy

• Cancellations will be accepted until 10 days before the course, and the registration fee, less $75, will be refunded.
• After that time, no refunds will be made for cancellations.

Substitution Policy

• Substitutions will be allowed at any time.

• Registration is not final until full payment is received.
• Course materials will only be available for paid attendees.
• Payment can be made using Visa or Mastercard.
