Certificate Mobility

Mobility Option

This option is aimed at students who are completing a study-related stay abroad of at least 12 weeks.

Contact

Coordinator

The coordinator for the Certificate Mobility is Dominika Lichteveld, who serves as the Coordinator Student Support, BeBuddy, and Intercultural Trainer.

Compulsory Components

The following components are compulsory for the Certificate Mobility:

  • Intercultural training
  • Stay abroad
  • Report on the experience

Explanations of the Components

Intercultural Training Course

The intercultural training course prepares students for the challenges they may face during an extended stay abroad and teaches them intercultural skills. The regular course dates are published on the event page. This training course is also a requirement for receiving the certificate if the stay abroad has already been completed.

Stay Abroad

The stay must be at least 12 weeks and can include studying abroad, an internship, a research stay, or writing a thesis. The aim is to gain valuable experience in an international environment.

Report on the Experience

After the stay, students will write a report (1-2 pages) describing their experiences and giving tips for future outgoing students. Topics can include finding accommodation, studying, health insurance, or transportation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Proof of Intercultural Training

If students have taken part in an intercultural training course, they should upload their certificate. If the training was a long time ago and they have not received a certificate, they should write an email to the current coordinator and provide the approximate time period for verification.

Proof of Study Abroad

As proof of studies abroad, students should upload a Confirmation of Stay Abroad or their Transcript of Records. If they have organized their studies abroad by themselves (free mover) or have an exchange spot outside Europe from their faculty, they should register their stay abroad at the RWTH International Office and upload the registration confirmation as proof to obtain the Certificate Mobility.

Experience Report Submission
