Detailed Information

Description of the Degree Program

This degree course is aimed at graduates of science or engineering courses, mathematics, or computer science. The program consists of a large compulsory area of 45 ECTS, followed by a compulsory elective area in economics of 55 ECTS. Students must choose modules of at least 50 ECTS from exactly one specialization:


  • Corporate Development and Strategy
  • Operations Research Management
  • Sustainability and Corporations
  • Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Marketing
  • General Management (modules can be freely selected from the four other specializations)

An interactive, project-oriented introductory course is offered explicitly for this degree program. The degree program concludes with a four-month thesis.


Study Start

The Master's degree course in Economics can only be started in the first semester in the winter semester.


Professional Requirements

  • Proof of a recognized first qualified university degree in a scientific course of study in engineering or natural sciences, mathematics, or computer science, with at least 140 credit points (ECTS) in STEM modules.
  • Sound knowledge of higher mathematics and statistics amounting to at least 15 ECTS.
  • For applicants with non-German university entrance qualification or first university degree, proof of knowledge of the German language is required (e.g., TestDAF, DSH, KMK II).
  • For applicants who have not acquired the degree program qualification at an exclusively English-speaking institution or have not learned English as a native language, proof of English language proficiency is required (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge Test).

Selection Procedure

Admission is based on a selection procedure, considering the Bachelor's grade (51%) and the TM-WISO test result (49%). It is recommended to take the test, as a passed test is only valid for one year.
