Program Overview
MS in Health Data Science Program
The MS in Health Data Science program at Dartmouth is designed to provide training in the science of data related to health systems, processes, and outcomes. This program mixes theory with application to provide training in programming, biostatistics, machine learning, and AI to wrangle, analyze, and interpret the complex data encountered within health data science fields.
Program Highlights
- Health data science is the science of data related to health systems, processes, and outcomes.
- Training in health data science is crucial to address the many complex challenges within the biomedical, biobehavioral, public health, and clinical care sectors.
- The program content addresses the computational challenges faced, including working with structured and unstructured data, intensively collected data, big data, imaging data, omics, and more.
- Graduates are prepared to immediately contribute as a health data scientist within multiple sectors, including biomedical research, pharmaceutical industries, government, non-profits, healthcare delivery, academia, and more.
- Importantly, graduates are prepared to serve as leaders, capable of understanding the context and implications of their decisions.
Program Features
- Designed for All Backgrounds: The program welcomes students from diverse academic and professional backgrounds who are passionate about learning. There are no specific undergraduate degree requirements. Although not required, this program suggests familiarity in: Computer Programming, and Statistics.
