Master of Health Administration Program

The Master of Health Administration (MHA) program at Dartmouth is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to advance their careers in health care. The program combines targeted, technical training with leadership topics to create a transformative educational experience.

Capstone

The Capstone is a culminating, experiential learning project where students partner with a field-based host site to analyze a defined problem or need. The project serves a mutually beneficial purpose, as students develop critical professional skills and networking opportunities while partner sites gain actionable, feasible project plans.

Program Structure

• 12- or 24-month program
• Intense on-campus residential sessions are critical touchpoints required throughout the program
• Online learning is a mix of synchronous and asynchronous work, with a predictable weekly rhythm

Accreditation

Dartmouth is taking every step to ensure the MHA program meets the most rigorous standards for health management education. The program currently holds Commission on Accreditation Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) Candidacy status.

CAHME Candidacy Status

Candidate status is an indication that a program in healthcare management has voluntarily committed to participate in a plan of self-improvement and is actively progressing toward the status of accreditation. Candidate status is not accredited status and does not guarantee eventual accredited status.

Learning Model

The program's learning model is designed to provide a uniquely personal educational experience, both on-campus and online. Students have the opportunity to build relationships with their peers and receive individualized support from faculty and career services staff throughout the program.
