Program Overview

The elementary education unified program curriculum is built on the belief that it is critical for KU students to not only gain a broad-based teacher education preparation, but to supplement that education with hands-on practical experience in the field. This powerful combination allows our students to excel in any classroom environment.


Program Curriculum

  • The program curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in elementary education.
  • Freshmen and transfer students will complete the KU Core 34 Curriculum for general education requirements.

Admission and Tuition

Admission to the University of Kansas

All high school juniors and seniors, as well as transfer students, will need to apply for undergraduate admission to the University of Kansas.


Admission to Professional Program

Incoming first-year and transfer students may be eligible for direct admission into undergraduate SOEHS programs.
