Introduction to the Master's Program in Biodiversity

The Master's Program in Biodiversity (MPB) is a 2-year, cross-disciplinary program that aims to cultivate talent with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in biodiversity conservation and management, as well as awareness of international biodiversity governance.

Program Details

Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to equip students with transformative skills and new technologies to conserve biodiversity and incorporate it into policy-making and business, considering socio-economic gains of saving biodiversity. To earn a Master's degree, students must successfully complete:

• A thesis
• At least 24 credits, including:
  • 9 credits in compulsory courses
  • 15 credits in elective courses

Internship Opportunities

The program offers internships in the Guyan Zhuoyun Plant Conservation Center (Dr. Cecilia Koo Botanic Conservation Center), allowing students to use conservation research as the foundation, conduct academic exchanges with domestic and international visiting scholars at the Seed Conservation Center, and be part of the World Tropical Plant Conservation Project.

Admission

The MPB program is devoted to nurturing talents with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills. The September 2025 intake is open for applications.
