Program Description

Students participating in this clerkship will act as interns evaluating and managing patients with undifferentiated medical and surgical emergencies and urgencies. Students practice procedural skills, learn to recognize, resuscitate, and stabilize seriously ill patients. EM faculty provide direct supervision and bedside teaching. Students work clinical shifts in the ED, attend didactic lectures, and participate in other educational endeavors unique to the site as indicated by the clerkship director.
