Introduction to the Obstetrics/ Gynecology Residency Program
The Obstetrics/ Gynecology Residency Program at UCSF Fresno is designed to provide a comprehensive education in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. The program is committed to fostering a well-rounded education, encouraging resident independence, and preparing graduates for a successful career in the field.
Program Overview
The program is based at Community Regional Medical Center, a hospital that delivers over 3000 babies a year and has 22 LDR rooms, 3 dedicated OR suites, and a 10-bed triage unit. The program serves the Central Valley, a community with diverse patients and pathology.
Curriculum
The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive education in obstetrics and gynecology. The program includes:
- Rotations in various aspects of obstetrics and gynecology
- Simulation lab training
- Opportunities for resident independence in and out of the clinical setting
