The 100% online aeronautics and astronautics (AAE) concentration offers an area of specialization for students in the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Engineering (MSE) / Master of Science (MS) degree. As a student in this program, you will focus heavily on aeronautics and astronautics topics and technical knowledge.

Degree Requirements with the Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering Concentration

The Interdisciplinary Engineering (MSE or MS) degree requires a total of 30 credit hours with at least 18 credits of Purdue, graduate level, engineering courses. The aeronautics and astronautics (AAE) concentration must be completed within these degree requirements.


Core AAE Courses

  • 9 credit hours of courses with AAE prefixes are required.

Engineering Courses

  • 9 credit hours of courses with engineering prefixes (AAE, BME, CE, ECE, IE, ME, MSE, SYS, etc.) are required.

Elective Courses

  • 12 credit hours of any courses listed on the courses page will fulfill this requirement, including available non-engineering courses.
