About Program
Program Overview
Working Professional Track - Davidson School of Chemical Engineering - Purdue University
The Working Professional Track is designed for full-time working professionals pursuing the degree part-time over 3–4 years. This program requires 30 or 41* credits for graduation.
Key Highlights
- Designed for full-time working professionals who prefer a lighter academic load each semester while continuing full-time employment.
- Students typically enroll in 3 to 6 credits per semester and must complete the degree within 4 years.
- The Capstone project (CHE 59700) may be taken as early as the Summer of Year 2. Enrollment in the Capstone course is flexible but not allowed in the first semester of enrollment.
- It is anticipated that a full-time working professional student may be restricted to complete the capstone project course in coordination with their current employer. Terms of employment may limit a student's ability to pursue a capstone with a different company.
- Students without a chemical engineering undergraduate degree must complete the undergraduate prerequisite courses, ideally during Year 1. The degree will require completion of 41 credit hours, with 11 of these credits being the undergraduate prerequisite courses.
