The Certificate in Student Success Skills Education (SSSE) is a fully online professional development program designed for educators, school staff, counselors, and after-school professionals. This non-credit certificate helps individuals gain the skills to promote student success, resilience, and civic participation in classrooms and beyond.

• The program is offered through Rutgers University’s Department of Psychology in partnership with Saint Elizabeth University.
• It is a 100% online program with flexible learning and live discussions.

Program Options

• General Track: This track consists of 3 courses - Foundations, Pedagogy & Practice, and Practicum.
• Accelerated Track: Designed for professionals with 5+ years of SECD experience, this track consists of 2 courses and requires an application process for review and acceptance.
• Focused Programs:
  • Discussion Strategies for Civic Participation (DSCP): Teaches students respectful debate and civic engagement skills.
  • SEL Lab: Provides targeted, 1:1 or small-group support for students who need additional practice.
