The Tier 2 Coach Support Lab for Students is a program designed for professionals who support students in need of additional practice with student success skills in small groups or one-on-one settings.

Description

This program allows students to earn specialty certificates and deepens their understanding of Social-Emotional Learning, pedagogy, and practice. Participants learn how to teach specific SEL skills in a one-on-one setting.

Eligibility

To enroll, participants must:

• Hold a bachelor's or associate degree (or higher), or be a college student with 60+ credits completed
• Work directly with students (in schools, after-school, or higher education settings)
• Complete courses sequentially (301 → 302 or 501 → 502)
• For the Practicum (302 & 502): be employed in a setting where weekly lessons can be implemented and submit a support letter from a supervisor or administrator

Program Format

• 100% online
• Flexible module completion due dates + live discussions
• Sequential course structure (Instruction → Practicum)
• Passing requires 85% or higher on assignments and active participation
• Earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for each course
• Receive the Focused Program Certificate upon completion

Courses

• Tier 2 Coach Support Lab (501): a 10-week course that takes participants through the start-up and facilitation of initiating and implementing their SEL Lab
  • Format: Live chat sessions every other unit
  • Tuition Cost: $324
  • Dates: Next start date TBD, contingent on enrollment (10 weeks)
• Tier 2 Coach Support Lab Practicum (502): an 8-week course that allows participants to start up their lab and begin working with students under the mentorship of trained and experienced SEL Lab instructors
  • Format: Live chat sessions
