Introduction to the Nursing 2+2 Program
The Rutgers School of Nursing-Newark/New Brunswick offers a unique 2+2 pipeline program for eligible transfer students interested in pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSN) degree, with all courses and student services located on the Camden County College campus in Blackwood, NJ. The 2+2 BSN program track is designed for students who have either an Associate of Science degree (preferably on a Pre-Nursing track) or 60 undergraduate prerequisite credits from an outside 2-year or 4-year institution.
Program Details
Students in the program benefit from access to resources administered by our flagship campuses, but in a more intimate, personalized setting. The 2+2 program is designed to provide an equitable School of Nursing educational opportunity, situated in the heart of Southern New Jersey, in partnership with Camden County College. Students in the program will gain enhanced nursing knowledge, and complete immersive clinical experiences throughout the South Jersey/Greater Philadelphia area. All courses are led by full-time Rutgers School of Nursing faculty members, and take place onsite at Camden County College.
Potential Career Paths
Students with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing will be eligible to pursue a wide variety of careers in the Health Care industry.
Admissions Requirements
Students admitted to the 2+2 BS Nursing program must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (3.3 or higher preferred)
- Associate's Degree (Pre-Nursing preferred) from an accredited university or college, or 60 undergraduate prerequisite credits from an outside 2-year or 4-year institution
- Ability to commit to a two-year, full-time program with a required summer start term in junior year
Transferring Credits
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey will transfer a maximum of 60 credits or one-half of the total degree credits required for a baccalaureate degree from a NJ county college to a Rutgers degree program for those students who have completed an A.A. or A.S. degree. Students may be awarded up to 90 credits from a 4-year institution. For the full list of prerequisite requirements, the details are as follows:
- The transfer policy is based on the completion of an A.A. or A.S. degree.
- The maximum number of credits that can be transferred from a NJ county college is 60.
- The maximum number of credits that can be transferred from a 4-year institution is 90.
