Program Overview

BA/MBA Dual Degree Program

The Department of Biology and the Rutgers School of Business–Camden offer a dual degree Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Master of Business Administration. This program requires undergraduates to plan effectively, accelerate completion of their undergraduate coursework, and complete graduate-level coursework in their senior undergraduate year. Dual Degree program candidates are expected to excel in their undergraduate studies and score well on the GMAT or GRE.

Program Eligibility Guidelines

• Students must be enrolled in the Undergraduate Biology Program, with the default Biology major degree being a BS in Biology. A BA degree is given only to students in the BA/MBA dual degree program.
• Students must have and maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA.
• Students must be able to maintain full-time status throughout their senior year.
• Students may apply when they have completed between 90-105 degree credits.
• Students must meet all applicable coursework requirements, available from the Qualification Checklist section of the RSBC Application Packet.

Program Structure

The program requires students to enroll in four MBA courses during their fourth/senior year. During the fifth/last year, students must matriculate into the MBA program via the formal graduate admissions process. All Dual Degree program students must have their bachelor's degree conferred prior to their first semester in the MBA program.

Program Advising

Early academic advising and planning are key to the successful completion of this program. Students are advised to consult with their undergraduate biology advisors and graduate business advisors for guidance.

Program Details

Eligible students must have accelerated completion of relevant business core requirements as well as most major required coursework by the end of their third/junior year. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in both biology and business, preparing them for a successful career in their chosen field.
