Program Overview
BS in Applied and Computational Mathematics
To qualify for a Bachelor of Science in Applied and Computational Mathematics, a student must satisfactorily complete with a grade of C or better each of the following courses. Changes from the standard program must be approved by the department.
Learning Goals
- Have a broad perspective on modern mathematics and its applications.
- Master basic mathematical and computational ideas and techniques in calculus, abstract algebra, analysis, geometry, differential equations, numerical analysis, probability, and statistics.
- Be able to analyze quantitative information and apply mathematical and computational techniques and concepts where appropriate.
- Be able to effectively communicate rigorous mathematical ideas and reasoning.
