PhD Program in Statistics at Rutgers University
The PhD Program in Statistics at Rutgers University is intended for students with strong mathematical backgrounds who wish to pursue research-oriented careers in academia or industry.
Program Structure
The first year curriculum covers foundational topics in probability, mathematical statistics, and applied/computational statistics. The qualifying exam is taken by all PhD students before the start of their second year. Upon passing the qualifying exam, students complete a PhD thesis under the supervision of world-class faculty with expertise in all manner of statistical disciplines.
