Program Description

The Social Work (BSW) program at the University of Utah provides students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to become professionals in the helping professions. The program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and can be completed in person or 100% online through UOnline.

Advanced Education

Graduates of the U's BSW program may apply for Advanced Standing Master of Social Work programs at the U and other CSWE-accredited institutions.

• Recreational Therapy: Recreational therapists use individual and group counseling techniques to improve the overall well-being of individuals with injury, illness, and/or disability.
• Ethnic Studies: This degree prepares students for employment with private and public organizations and agencies that work with historically underserved populations.
