The Department of Naval Science is part of the College of Social and Behavioral Science at the University of Utah.

Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP)

The Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP) is a program offered by the Department of Naval Science.

Application Process

To apply for the MECEP program, follow these steps:

1. Fill out the MECEP application.
2. Visit the MECEP Requirements page for more information.
3. The process is outlined in MCO 1040.43B, MARADMIN 191/20 & MARADMIN 166/20.
4. Check the MARADMINs for Selection Board and Officer Candidate School (OCS) Dates, as due dates vary depending on the academic year.

Application and Notification Dates

• Summer:
  • Application deadline: March 1st
  • Notification date: January 15th for early applicants
• Fall:
  • Application deadline: April 1st
  • Notification date: January 15th for early applicants
• Spring:
  • Application deadline: November 30th
  • Notification date: September 15th for early applicants
• Otherwise, notifications will be on a rolling basis.
