Program Overview
Beginning Woodworking Program
The Beginning Woodworking program is designed to introduce students to the basic skills of woodworking. This program is perfect for anyone new to woodworking, as it starts at the very beginning and covers common hand tools, power tools, and safety procedures.
Program Description
Through two in-class building projects, students will learn about:
- Common hand tools such as a hammer, measuring tape, and level
- Power tools such as an impact driver, drill press, jointer, router, and four kinds of saw
- The best tool to use for desired outcomes and how to operate them safely Students will complete the program with a hand-built charcuterie board and a step-stool, as well as the knowledge needed to continue making projects on their own.
