Program Overview

M.S. in Business Analytics Program Overview

The Master of Science in Business Analytics is a 12-month program offered in partnership by the Darden School of Business and the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia. The program is delivered both online and in-person at the UVA Darden DC Metro facility in Arlington, Virginia, as well as UVA's Main Grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Program Structure

• The program is divided into a combination of live online class sessions, virtual team projects, and asynchronous content.
• One-third of the program is spent at once-a-month, in-person weekend classes, called residencies.
• The majority of in-person residencies take place at UVA Darden DC Metro, with two four-day residencies on UVA’s historic Grounds in Charlottesville, VA.

Residency Schedule

• Residencies provide the opportunity to meet face-to-face with members of your cohort, faculty, and staff.
• The program features two four-day residencies on UVA’s historic Grounds in Charlottesville, VA.
• Hotel accommodations, class day meals, and special events are provided during the residencies.

Residency Locations

• The majority of in-person residencies take place at UVA Darden DC Metro, located in the Rosslyn area of Arlington, VA.
• The modern learning space can be easily accessed via Metro from both Union Station and the Washington, D.C., area airports.

DC Metro In-Person Sessions

• An overview of the 2-day in-person sessions at Sands Family Grounds in Rosslyn, Virginia.
• Class sessions are 75 minutes, with typically nine class sessions within a weekend.
• Most weekends also include time after class for catching up with classmates and working with teams.
• Typical class start and end times are:
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.
  • Sunday: 8 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

Charlottesville Residencies

• An overview of the 4-day residencies in Charlottesville, Virginia.
• Hotel accommodations, class day meals, and special events are provided during the residencies.
