Master of Nursing Spring Start (Pre-Licensure Program)
The Master of Nursing Spring Start program is a 15-month, full-time, campus-based program designed for second-degree students. The program applies a master's level approach to second-degree nursing education and has a focus on leadership.
Overview
The program offers three career pathways designed to meet students' needs:
- Master of Nursing Program: Complete the Master of Nursing program in 15 months to work as a registered nurse after obtaining a nursing license.
- Master of Nursing InEmory Scholars Program: Complete the Master of Nursing program in 15 months with a commitment from Emory Healthcare to hire the student as a Registered Nurse after successfully completing the NCLEX.
- Master of Nursing Pathway Program: Complete the Master of Nursing program in 15 months, obtain a nursing license, and continue nursing education in either the MSN or DNP program.
Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants must submit:
- Application for Admission
- $50 Application Fee
- Official transcripts from each school attended
- Resume
- TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores (if English is a second language)
Application
The school begins accepting applications for each MN Spring start cohort in March prior to the January start date. Admission decisions are based on candidate competitiveness and space availability.
Prerequisites
The prerequisites for the MN Spring start program include seven courses:
- Physical Sciences:
- General Chemistry I with lab
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I with lab
- Human Anatomy & Physiology II with lab
- Microbiology with lab
- Nutrition
- Math: Introductory Statistics
- Social Sciences: Human Growth and Development or Life Span Development
