Program Overview

The Emory Summer College is a nonresidential program that allows exceptional high school students, who have completed their sophomore or junior year, to enroll in Emory undergraduate courses and earn college credit. International students are eligible to enroll in Summer College online courses without a visa; however, an F-1 visa is required for those participating in on-campus classes.

  • High-speed internet connection (dial-up is not sufficient)

  • Emory College Online courses utilize the Canvas platform and Zoom Video Conferencing for synchronous (live) sessions

Synchronous Class Meetings

  • Keep video on whenever possible
  • Check browsers and documents before sharing and avoid sharing content that is inappropriate for class
  • Use virtual backgrounds to protect your privacy
  • Dress appropriately, as you would for face-to-face class
  • Use mute function in a large class when you are not talking
  • Wait until the person finishes talking before you start to talk

Online Discussion Board

  • Use standard fonts optimized for online reading & sizes that are easily readable
  • Be concise
DO NOT:
  • Use sarcasm, profanity, or offensive language
