Program Overview
The Leveraging AI for Business course is designed to provide a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in business. The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully integrate AI into their organizations.
Course Objectives
- Gain a sound understanding of the current and future capabilities of AI and generative AI
- Learn to think like a data scientist and effectively communicate with technology teams around the topic of AI and generative AI
- Survey the multitude of ways businesses are leveraging AI to gain insights
- Understand how to successfully integrate AI and generative AI into an organization
- Create value within an organization by leveraging AI and generative AI
Course Structure
The course is delivered over two days, with the following sessions:
- The AI Landscape: An up-to-date overview of the AI landscape in terms of technology, business models, and AI applications
- Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Big Data: A gentle overview of the underlying technologies that have enabled AI
- Generative AI: A detailed understanding of how generative AI works, its applications, and best practices
- Organizational and Societal Impacts of AI: Understanding the potential impacts of new AI technologies on the future of work and society
- AI Maturity, Operational Readiness, and Future of Work: Assessing an organization's AI maturity, preparing for operational excellence, and reimagining the future of work
Instructor Spotlight

- Jesse Bockstedt, PhD, Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Professor of Information Systems & Operations Management
