Course Overview
Rates of mental disorders have been rising steadily over the last decade. This has sparked an increased interest in the field of mental health. This interest has been echoed in the content we see in popular culture and social media sites. This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the development, symptoms, and treatment of mental disorders. Topics include depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. Special focus will be on sociocultural factors affecting diagnosis, treatment, and implementation.
