The Pre-College Program is a nonresidential program in which exceptional high school students, who have completed their sophomore or junior year, may enroll in Emory undergraduate courses and earn college credit.

Emory Summer College is a program that allows high school students to take undergraduate courses and earn college credit. The program is designed for students who have completed their sophomore or junior year.

Course Overview
An exploration of literary works (fiction, poetry, drama, essays) that have had or have a popular readership, and an examination of the factors governing popular taste and literary production. The course will consist of a deep dive into Dracula, Bram Stoker's famous novel, along with small selections to enhance understanding of the work.

Instructors
Joonna Trapp
Prior to joining the faculty at Emory in 2015, Joonna Smitherman Trapp served two years in the Emory College Writing Program and was previously a tenured Associate Professor of English at Northwestern College; Associate Professor and Chair of English and Foreign Language at Waynesburg University; and Associate Professor and Chair of Communication Studies at King University. Trapp's primary research lies in the intersections between literature and rhetoric in American studies as well as in teaching and learning. She also directs the WAC initiatives for Emory College in the Writing Across Emory program.
