Program Overview

The University of Copenhagen offers a comprehensive program in Veterinary Physiology, designed to provide students with a deep understanding of the physiological principles underlying the functioning of domestic animals.

Program Description

The program is divided into ten modules, each focusing on a specific aspect of veterinary physiology. These modules include:

• Reproduktionsorganer (Reproductive Organs)
• Endokrinologi og mamma (Endocrinology and Mammary Gland)
• Basal Ortopædi (Basic Orthopedics)
• Heldyrsfysiologi (Whole Animal Physiology)

Program Objectives

Upon completion of the program, students are expected to:

• Demonstrate knowledge of veterinary physiology and relate it to the normal functioning of living animals
• Understand and apply physiological principles to explain organ function and regulation
• Identify, remember, and apply general and quantitative physiological principles
• Describe the function and regulation of organs and organ systems
• Describe the interaction between organs and organ systems
• Describe relevant homeostasis in the organism

Program Requirements

The program requires students to:

• Complete and pass five formative tests (online evaluations) in connection with each practical/theoretical exercise
• Achieve at least 80% active participation in exercises to obtain a passed course certificate
• Participate in group work in connection with tasks and exercises

Program Evaluation

The program evaluation consists of two exams:

• Eksamen 1 (Løbende prøver SVEB25007E): A home assignment with a pass/fail grade
• Eksamen 2 (Fageksamen SVEB25008E): A written on-site exam with a 7-point grading scale
