Course Content
The course aims to provide students with a reflected understanding of central phenomena within the field of theater and performance studies, focusing on theoretical and methodological skills in analyzing these forms of expression and placing them in their relevant cultural, societal, and historical contexts. The course establishes the theoretical foundation for developing a critical approach to theoretical and methodological tools in academic, pedagogical, or artistic investigations and the ability to contextualize these within a comprehensive framework for theater and performance theory.
Teaching Materials
It is recommended that students familiarize themselves with "The Performance Studies Reader," Third edition, by Henry Bial and Sara Brady, Routledge, 2016.
