The University of Copenhagen offers a course titled "Teater- og performancestudier: Forskningspraksis i teater- og performancestudier" (Research Practices within Theatre and Performance Studies).
Course Description
This course aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the application of theoretical, methodological, and analytical tools in theatre and performance studies. Through the study of selected research, students will establish a foundation for formulating and defining a self-contained academic problem. The course will also enable students to critically and independently apply their skills in a relevant context.
Course Content
The course is based on academic articles, reports, and examples of current research-based studies. All texts will be available online as PDF files or through library searches.
Teaching Methods
The course will consist of lectures, group teaching, excursions, and guest lectures. The total workload is estimated to be 420 hours, including:
- Group teaching: 56 hours
- Preparation: 279 hours (estimated)
- Guidance: 1 hour
- Examination: 84 hours
- Total: 420 hours

Examination
The examination will be a written submission, and all aids are allowed except for Generative AI. The course is worth 15 ECTS points.
