Course Objectives

The course aims to:

• Introduce students to the comparative anatomy of vertebrates, including their organ systems
• Enable students to communicate the relationships between different organisms and their anatomical and physiological adaptations
• Foster critical thinking and reflection on the complexity of living organisms and the significance of different anatomical and physiological adaptations

Course Content

The course covers the following topics:

• Introduction to comparative anatomy
• Vertebrate anatomy and physiology
• Organ systems (skeletal, muscular, skin, digestive, respiratory, circulatory, excretory, reproductive, nervous, and endocrine systems)
• Digital simulations and practical exercises

Teaching Methods

The course consists of:

• Lectures (30 hours)
• Practical exercises (21 hours)
• Digital simulations
• Group work and peer feedback

Assessment

The course is assessed through a written exam (2 hours) with no aids allowed. The exam is graded on a 7-point scale, and the criteria for assessment include the student's ability to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and competencies as described in the course objectives.
