Program Overview


MSc Geology Field and Methods Course

The MSc Geology Field and Methods Course is designed to enable students to independently organize and carry out larger-scale geological fieldwork. The course aims to equip students with hands-on experience in a range of qualitative and quantitative methods applicable in research and industry-related fields.


Course Structure

The course comprises three parts:


  • Independent theoretical and methodological preparation for the fieldwork
  • 5-10 days of fieldwork
  • Processing of data and poster presentation

Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Students are required to pay for their own travel to and from the field-work area.
  • Students must cover entry visa fees (if required), vaccinations (if required), and personal medicine (e.g., malaria medication).
  • A daily fee of 200DKK is applicable for food and lodging.
  • For destinations outside Denmark, students must take out a private illness and repatriation insurance covering the field period.

Participation

  • It is only possible to take part in one Field and Methods course per student during the MSc programme.
  • Prior to formal course registration, the Department will arrange information meetings for interested students.
