Program Overview

The University of Copenhagen offers a course in Watercourse Management (LSLS10123U) as part of its professionsbachelor program. This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of watercourse management, covering four key areas: watercourse law and case handling, hydrology and watercourse measurement, ecology and watercourse maintenance, and politics and communication.

Course Description

The course aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage watercourses effectively. It covers topics such as watercourse measurement, hydrological calculations, and the planning and implementation of watercourse projects. Students will also learn about watercourse law, including the rules and regulations governing watercourse management, and how to write watercourse decisions that comply with these laws.

Learning Objectives

The course has several learning objectives, including:

  • Providing students with a thorough understanding of watercourse management
  • Enabling students to measure watercourses and perform hydrological calculations
  • Equipping students with the skills to evaluate different maintenance methods and make informed decisions about their application
  • Enabling students to write simple watercourse decisions and develop proposals for watercourse regulations

Course Structure

The course consists of a combination of lectures, group work, excursions, and discussions. Students will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects and develop their skills in a practical setting.

Assessment
