Traditional MPA Curriculum

The cutting-edge accounting knowledge an MPA from McCombs provides equips students to make informed decisions crucial for the growth and success of any business in any industry. The courses draw on students' creativity and industriousness and help prepare them for a bright future.

MPA Curriculum Paths

Each curriculum path requires the completion of 31 to 43 graduate credit hours total, including a minimum of 19 hours in accounting (depending on course waivers).

Program Length

If students have an undergraduate degree in accounting, they will complete a 31-hour program in either two semesters (fall and spring) or three semesters (fall, spring, and summer). If they opt to participate in employment recruiting in the fall, they will be encouraged to balance their schedule by completing fewer courses in the fall and extending graduation to early summer.

If students have an undergraduate degree in an area outside of accounting or business, they will complete a 43-hour program in four semesters (summer, fall, spring, and summer). However, if they opt to complete an internship, they most likely will graduate in the fall.

Waiver/Substitution Policy

The MPA degree consists of 43 total credit hours. However, up to four core courses (12 credit hours) may be waived and the MPA degree reduced to 31 credit hours if students complete the equivalent at a four-year college or university prior to entering the MPA program.

Exceptional Faculty

The world-renowned faculty teach a wide variety of accounting courses and infuse the curriculum with cutting-edge ideas.
