Human Resource Management Certificate
The Human Resource Management Certificate is designed to provide students with theoretical and practical insights into the field of human resources, as well as current, employer-valued perspectives. This certificate will be of value to individuals contemplating a career change or new to the human resources field, human resource professionals who want to expand their knowledge and skills, frontline managers, supervisors, and administrators who implement human resource policies and programs, and anyone preparing for their Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) National Knowledge Exam (NKE).

Course Delivery
Courses in this program are delivered online and in-class. Courses are scheduled at convenient times, allowing students to complete the program at a pace that fits their life. Students should plan on studying and working approximately 6 hours per week per course.
Timeline and Planning
The Human Resource Management Certificate is a 300-hour program. The length of time it takes to complete this program varies by student. If students take one or two courses per term, they will likely complete the program in two to three years. Students will complete the program faster if they take more courses per term.
Cost
The approximate cost to complete the Human Resource Management Certificate ranges from $5,796 to $7,233, depending on the optional courses selected. This includes the $105 admission fee.
Admission Requirements
To apply for admission to this program, students do not require a degree or diploma. Students can take individual courses to start and apply later. The admission fee is $105. To apply, students must meet the following requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- Grade 12 diploma (recommended)
- Relevant work experience (recommended)
- If English is not their first language, students must meet the English language proficiency requirements

Credit for Prior Learning
Advanced standing may be granted for equivalent, graded courses completed at other post-secondary institutions. Credit may be granted up to a maximum of 100 hours towards this program. Students may also receive credit for prior learning from other Continuing Education programs, with a maximum of 150 hours of combined advanced standing and transferred credits.
Career Connections
The Human Resource Management Certificate is offered in association with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Alberta. Individuals already certified often take Continuing Education human resource courses to meet their continuing professional development (CPD) requirements.
