Program Overview

The Combined Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation with BA/BSc Psychology is a five-year experiential program that examines the economic, social, and political forces that serve to marginalize people. This program provides students with a solid background in psychology and supervised community practice, preparing them for a career in community organizations.

Program Learning Outcomes

The program learning outcomes include:


  • Understanding the science of psychology, including key concepts and approaches, biological, psychological, and social bases of behavior and thought processes, historical trends and recent advances, and cultural origins and boundaries of psychological science.
  • Learning problem-solving skills, including critical thinking, using relevant sources of scientific knowledge, and contributing to knowledge and problem-solving.
  • Working with data, including understanding research methods, creating and carrying out research questions, and analyzing and communicating results.
  • Developing communication skills, including writing for scientific and non-scientific audiences, explaining concepts and ideas, and contributing to groups.
  • Working with information and research, including finding and interpreting sources, assessing relevance and validity, and reading, analyzing, and communicating.
  • Understanding and applying ethics in a diverse world, including identifying action and policy issues, applying principles, and recognizing different perspectives that apply to ethical dilemmas.
  • Applying knowledge and skills, including generating solutions using principles, understanding the practical uses of psychological concepts and methods, and transferring learning to new situations.
